The Financial Wellbeing Institute is a community financial-education organization. We host free, in-person workshops on the decisions that matter most at and near retirement — taught by licensed financial professionals, in plain English, with no products sold and no sales pitch. We are here solely to educate.
Our mission is to eliminate financial stress through education, empowerment, and practical action. We provide unbiased financial wellness programs that create confident decision-makers and stronger communities.
We believe everyone deserves access to honest, clear financial education — regardless of income, background, or where they are in life. That is why every event we host is completely free, taught by licensed professionals, and entirely free of product sales or sales pressure.
Most people at or near retirement have sat through a “free seminar” that turned into a pitch. We started the Financial Wellbeing Institute to be the opposite of that: a classroom, not a showroom. If you are looking for true education, this is it.
Our presenters are licensed financial professionals who teach the material and answer your questions. Nothing is sold at our events, no one follows up to sell you anything, and attending creates no obligation of any kind.
A licensed financial professional leads an open group class on the topic. We cover core concepts in plain language with plenty of time for questions. Every attendee leaves with specific, actionable steps — no homework, no pressure, no obligation.
Every workshop sets aside time for Q&A. Come with anything you have been wondering about — a specific concern, something you have heard but are not sure about, or a situation you want clarity on. No question is too basic.
Because some questions are personal, each class is followed by the opportunity for a one-on-one consultation to discuss details that could not be covered in a group setting — still free, still no products, still no obligation.
Each series runs about 90 minutes to two hours, in person, in a community venue — a library, a community center, a local landmark. Topics are general in nature; nothing is tailored to sell a product.
When to claim, spousal and survivor benefits, how your benefit is taxed, what the trust-fund projections do and don’t mean, and how Social Security fits into a complete retirement income plan.
How a market drop, inflation and retirement taxes each affect a retirement income plan, why timing matters, and how a plan is built to account for all three at once.
The retirement tax traps, withdrawal sequencing and Roth conversions, and the estate documents every family needs in order — wills, trusts, beneficiary designations, powers of attorney.
The Financial Wellbeing Institute is based in Monroeville, Pennsylvania, and hosts workshops in communities across the United States — with more workshops coming soon.
We work with local venues — public libraries, community centers, historic properties and resorts — because we believe financial education belongs in the places people already know and trust.
